I really like her project because of the mood that she elicits with her dances. The way she captures the flow of the fabric and incorporates dark lighting, air flow, suspense, and movements allows the viewer to feel different emotions. I can see it as inspiring, melancholy, whimsical, and calming. There is an ease to the way she expresses her emotions throughout the video, even though I know it must have been challenging.

This project was intriguing due to the moving parts. It is a reflection of nature and I think it does a great job of capturing the subtle movement nature provides. People may think a tree is still, but the leaves, the wind and the sun control it’s movements. If you just sit and watch, there is so much to watch. It was refreshing to watch after all of the wildfires in my surrounding areas. Our nearby forests have been burning for weeks and will probably take years to recover.

I love the shadows from the water. It is such a simple element, yet can be incredibly unpredictable. Dangerous, yet soothing. That lack of stability in how the project will present itself is a unique risk. I am curious how many different movements and patterns can be elicited from water to produce sounds, light, and texture. I also think Liu did a great job with the coloring and presentation to present a calming chaos.
The Savoir-Faire of the Pleats from the Dior Summer 2020 Men’s Collection
This one is not a previous thesis, however, I love the details and movements that go into these couture designs. I have been sewing for as long as I can remember and am fascinated by pieces that tell a story.
